Stay in one of Kei Mouth’s beautiful beach houses, each offering breathtaking ocean views and fully equipped amenities. All meals are included, ensuring a hassle-free experience from arrival to departure.
Each meal is inspired by traditional South African cuisine, giving you a taste of our rich culinary heritage. From hearty stews to coastal favorites, you’ll enjoy authentic flavors that reflect the spirit of the region.
Led by an experienced head guide, you’ll receive hands-on instruction tailored to your skill level. With more time on the beach, you’ll learn to read the water, refine your casting, and understand the conditions that influence fish behavior, all while targeting both edible and non-edible species across Kei Mouth’s diverse marine habitats.
Bull sharks, Dusky Sharks, Bronze Whaler, Ragged Tooth Shark, Spotted Gully Shark, Black Rays, Kob, Black Mussel Cracker, White Mussel Cracker, Black tail, White Steenbras, Zebra Fish (Wildeperd).
1 November to 1 December: In Summer there is an abundance of Ragged Tooth sharks, providing a good tussle for tourists and local fisherman. This area, situated on the Wild Coast is extremely versatile as it produces both monster sharks and prized edible fish.
1 December to 1 February: The most productive time with massive Ragged Tooth sharks coming out in numbers. Every now and then, with the warmer waters, the Bull sharks tend to show their faces. The duality of Kei Mouth allows for some memorable shark fishing and also for good edible fishing along the Kei Mouth River.
1 February to 1 April: As the water temperature decreases, the summer fish move on to warmer waters. During this time anglers capitalize on edible fishing. In April we see the first signs of the Bronze Whaler Sharks, following the annual sardine run.
1 April - 1 September: Peak Bronzie time. The annual sardine run is in full effect, meaning predators like the Bronze Whaler Shark, Dusky (Grey) Shark and Spotted Gully Shark are thick and capitalizing on the abundance of bait fish.
The small town of Kei Mouth is located roughly 1 hour and 30 minutes from East London and is home to some of the best summer fishing in the Eastern Cape. With beautiful clean, open beaches and rocky areas, providing the perfect habitat for bank fish as well as some reef fish.
During summertime iconic spots such as ‘Ducks pond’ produce some amazing catches such as Bull sharks, Black fin sharks and Bronze Whalers. In Kei Mouth we cater for both edible and non-edible fishing, making it the perfect summer getaway to target a large variety of fish.
Apart from fishing Kei Mouth has loads of extra holiday activities that one can take part in such as small farmers’ markets, regular karaoke evenings hosted at the infamous Morgan’s Bay Hotel and many more.
